Our content is here to help you learn.

Our website, blog, podcast (The Replacement Cost), newsletter, and social media posts explain how insurance works and what’s changing. They’re general education written for many readers, not advice about your policy. What your policy covers is decided by the policy itself: its forms, endorsements, and declarations pages. If something you read raises a question about your own coverage, call us and we’ll look at your actual policy with you.

Examples show how things work.

We use examples, figures, and dollar amounts to make ideas easier to follow, like how a percentage deductible adds up or how rebuild costs have moved. They’re illustrations, not estimates for your home, your business, or your policy. We’re glad to work through your real numbers with you.

Insurance changes, so check with us before you act.

Laws, insurance markets, and the way insurance companies write and price policies change over time. We work to keep our content accurate and useful, but some of it may not reflect the latest change, and we don’t put dates on our pages. Before you make a decision based on something you read here, give us a call and we’ll tell you what applies today.

Policy and renewal reviews, when you ask.

Ask us to go through your policy or your renewal, and we’ll walk through it with you, share what we see, and talk about your options. What we tell you is based on the documents you give us, so the more you send (your current policy, your renewal, and any change notices), the more we can tell you. A review isn’t a promise that your coverage fits every possible loss. We also don’t watch your policies automatically unless we’ve agreed to do that with you. A good habit is a review every year and any time something changes. Call us to set one up.

Keep us posted when things change.

Quotes and coverage are built on the information you share with us. A new home, a remodel, a new driver, or a change in your business can affect your coverage. Tell us when something changes and we’ll look at what it means for your policy.

Quotes, coverage, and changes.

Starting, changing, or ending coverage begins with a conversation with our team. Coverage isn’t bound, changed, or cancelled by email, voicemail, a website form, a text, or a social media message until we confirm it with you in writing. If you’ve sent us a request and haven’t heard back, please call us.

Quotes are estimates based on the information you give us, and they aren’t binding. All coverage is subject to underwriting and approval by the insurance company, and the final terms are the ones in the policy that’s issued. Availability varies by state, insurance company, and property. We’ll tell you what we can offer for your situation.

If you have a claim.

Report a claim to your insurance company as soon as you can, using the claim phone number or app listed on your policy or ID card. Many insurance companies take claim reports around the clock. Then let us know so we can help. Please don’t rely on email, a website form, or a social media message to report a claim.

Where we’re licensed.

Far North Insurance is licensed in multiple states. Some of our licenses cover business insurance only, and others cover both personal and business insurance. Some products we talk about may not be available in your state, and nothing on this site is an offer to sell insurance where we aren’t licensed. If you’d like licensing details for your state, just ask.

The insurance companies we work with.

As an independent agency, we work with multiple insurance companies, so we can show you more than one option. The insurance company, not Far North Insurance, issues your policy. Company names and logos on our site don’t mean every company is available for every client, property, or state. We’ll tell you which ones can quote for you.

How we’re paid.

We may be paid a commission by the insurance company that issues your policy, and that amount can vary by company and policy. If you’d like information about how we’re paid, ask us and we’ll share it.

Links and tools from other sites.

Our site and content sometimes link to articles, calculators, and tools from other organizations. We don’t control those sites or endorse everything on them, and their content and privacy practices are their own. If a tool gives you a number that surprises you, bring it to us and we’ll talk it through.

Reviews and testimonials.

Reviews and testimonials on our site reflect individual clients’ experiences. Your coverage, price, and experience will depend on your own situation. We’d love the chance to earn a review from you too.

Sharing personal information.

The easiest way to share sensitive details is by phone. Please don’t send Social Security numbers, full account numbers, or health information through website forms, email, text, or social media messages. Call us and we’ll help you get what we need to us the right way. Our Privacy Policy explains how our website collects and uses information.

Legal and tax questions.

We’re here for your insurance questions. For legal, tax, or financial planning questions, talk with an attorney, accountant, or financial advisor. We’re happy to work with them on the insurance side.

Questions? We’re here.

If anything on this page or anywhere on our site raises a question, we’d like to hear it. Call us at .
